Why read??aikelseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06015996559534576096noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4354048908491931924.post-11976477704686863442010-02-15T13:56:00.001-08:002010-02-15T14:11:38.550-08:00Goliath CorpAnyone else watch Fringe? Massive Dynamic are the baddies (corporately speaking) in Fringe ... the two names make me giggle.<br />Jasper Fforde has a wonderful website(s) - Goliath has its very own site, no less - which can be pretty entertaining.<br />I like how Jane Eyre saves her life by bullet blocking and then by Rochester entering into her world ... leading into the story of her entering his.<br />Did anyone else (who may or may not be as slow as I) go "....hey ... wait a minute .... that isn't how I remember Jane Eyre ... but then again ... I'm approaching decrepitude ... however, why would anyone trust this particular author."<br />Why does Fforde intentionally and constantly break the wall, causing us to invite him into the conversation? He's creating this wacky world ... and by the extremity of his creation, I find myself in frequent dialogue with him. This isn't a situation I enter into with anyone else (author-wise) I can think of ... at the moment. Will contemplate! Suggestions??aikelseyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06015996559534576096noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4354048908491931924.post-45468204890655423892010-02-14T14:13:00.000-08:002010-02-14T14:17:21.493-08:00Does Laura have a spining wheel? It looks like Diane's tech wizardry worked, as I am able to start a new stream/post. The intriguing title is in response to a face book note from my brother-in-law,Lawrence. Something about the look on the face of a woman with a new spinning wheel. I remember when Diane got her first spinning wheel...Tarahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00187945804284701687noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4354048908491931924.post-44820863096439828742010-02-12T12:45:00.001-08:002010-02-12T12:45:48.000-08:00Fford's world - what' s different and why? What does he get out of the changes he makes in this world, besides humor, and what's the point/commentary he is making?dkknightshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04637280883499604677noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4354048908491931924.post-58183807867304963522010-02-08T08:53:00.000-08:002010-02-08T08:55:11.568-08:00questions to ask ouselves for discussionThis was Alice's suggestion a beginning question.
