Does Laura have a spining wheel?

It looks like Diane's tech wizardry worked, as I am able to start a new stream/post. The intriguing title is in response to a face book note from my brother-in-law,Lawrence. Something about the look on the face of a woman with a new spinning wheel. I remember when Diane got her first spinning wheel...

  1. I have had a spinning wheel for a number of years that my neighbor gave me. It was a 40 year old Ashford traditional. Yesterday, I bought a new wheel and am in heaven. It is sooooo nice.

  2. I have a wheel - have moved it more than used it ... since children actually. Am a knitting fool and hope to get back into spinning some day!

  3. Hmmm. I could have sworn I commented last night. I'd forgotten Tara and I were living in the same house then. I love that wheel. It's Reeves, saxony wheel for those you who spin. And even though I don't have kids I don't spin much/

  4. Diane - I have discovered that if you don't sign in before you blog, it won't post. Anyway, I am a knitter and spinner. I just attended Madrona Fiber Arts Festival here in Tacoma. I took a spinning class from Jacey Boggs, whose yarn is featured in the most recent Spin Off. Also a steeking class from Mary Scott Huff. If you have not seen her new book, I recommend you check it out. Her designs are amazing. If Diane and/or Alice ever want to attend Madrona, just come on out to Tacoma. We can surely put you up for a few days.
